Macro / Close – up workshop

The camera club ran a Macro / Close up photography workshop on Sunday 22 March at our new meeting place, Mixtape Creative at 4/47 Station Road.
There was an informal session covering the general theory of macro / close – up photography, equipment, lighting and camera techniques, followed by a short practical session photographing some small static subjects.

Participants brought their cameras, close – up / macro lenses or a good zoom or standard lens, and tripods.
The workshop was hosted by our macro guru Peter Sanderson and an enthusiastic crowd took pictures of anything small and photogenic that happened to get in the way of their lenses.  Some of the images that participants took can be viewed in an album on the club Flickr site  at www.flickr.com/photos/margaretrivercameraclub/

Sunset by the Sea

The club held an outing to Redgate Beach on Sunday 2nd November 2014. We were photographing seascape, sunset and any other interesting features around the Redgate Beach area. The terrible weather that battered the Margaret River area that day kept the numbers low, but the clouds parted to provide a beautiful array of photo opportunities, and made it a very worthwhile exercise for the hardy few.

Club Outing Sunday 28th September

Margaret River Camera Club had another field trip on Sunday 28/9/2014.  First of all I would like to big thanks to Hank Durlik for giving up his day to show some of his favourite locations for shooting native orchids.  Hank took the club out to Ambergate Reserve, Moses Rock and Ellenbrook track.  We had lunch at Olio Bello Café. The all the members had a great day.  I look forward to the next outing.  Read more
